Ensuring safe drinking water supplies requires keeping drinking water sources (wells and surface waters) as clean as possible, because it is less expensive and more protective of public health to prevent contamination than it is to treat water to meet health standards. New contaminants of concern continue to emerge, which can require more costly treatment of source waters if the source waters have not been adequately protected. Municipalities and water suppliers have a key role in managing land uses that affect drinking water quality. The primary role of the Drinking Water Source Protection Program is to provide technical and financial assistance, and to enforce state regulations that serve to protect the state‟s sources of drinking water. However, effective protection relies on the combined efforts of the state, water suppliers, municipalities, businesses, institutions, and individuals whose activities have the potential to affect source water quality.
The motive of Rural Water Supply Programme is to provide regular safe and adequate water for drinking and other house hold purposes to every people in the houses of MADAKKULAM Village, so our „SAJAR HEALTH EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE TRUST‟ helps the village people to get the good Source of water for the Maximum amount of people in the village. The purpose of the program is to provide local leaders, water suppliers, and citizens with the information necessary to protect public drinking water sources from contamination. Through this program, state drinking water programs are responsible for:
- Identifying the land areas which provide water to each public drinking water source in their state.
- Completing an inventory of existing and potential sources of contamination in those areas.
- Determining the susceptibility of each drinking water system to contamination.
- Releasing the results of the assessment to water users and other interested entities.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS PROGRAMME – AVOID PLASTICS
Environment includes all living and non-living objects. We live in the environment and use the environmental resources like air, land and water to meet our needs. Development also means meeting the needs of the people. While meeting the ever-growing needs, we put pressure on the environment. When the pressure exceeds the carrying capacity of the environment to repair or replace itself, it creates a serious problem of environmental degradation. If we use any environmental resource such as ground water beyond its limit of replacement, we may lose it forever. Therefore, there is a need to create „awareness‟ about Environmental protection. While efforts are being made at the national and international level to protect our environment, it is also the responsibility of every citizen to use our environmental resources with care and protect them from degradation. The plastic also acts a major role in harming the Environment. Taking this in account SAJAR HEALTH EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE TRUST conducted Environmental awareness programme on 25.08.2017 .

- Pack your lunch in glass / Stainless steel containers instead of plastic
- Choose cardboard over plastic when you can.
- Use a paper Tea cups instead of Plastic Cups.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) is a campaign in India that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India's cities, smaller towns, and rural areas. The objectives of Swachh Bharat include eliminating open defecation through the construction of household-owned and community-owned toilets and establishing an accountable mechanism of monitoring toilet use. Totally six Toilets are constructed in the streets of The mission contains two sub-missions: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan ("Gramin" or rural), which operates under the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation; and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Urban), which operates under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Our SAJAR TRUST HEALTH EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE TRUST has conducted this mission KARADIPATTY.
